Using the magic wand to darken the lines I want to emphasize/keep
Here is a photo I took of my cousin last semester in my photography class. I thought this was a very appropriate image to convey the human form blending into nature.  From here, I'm going to add a thick forest around here (on the computer).  Then I will transfer the image onto a wood canvas that I'll build myself.  I'll transfer the image by applying a wet gel medium or paint and lay the printed image down on top of the paint/gel.  I'll let it dry overnight then wipe away the paper leaving my image.  There's a website I'm going off of- http://www.goldenpaints.com/artist/directransfer.php
After pasting this image, I'll add layers of gesso to create an illusion of depth for the forest feel.  It'll be an abstract painting but the image will be fairly prominent.  I'll be using lots of greens and earth tones.

For my final project, I'm wanting to blend the human form into nature. I'm going to take some images from a photography course I took last semester of my cousin modeling in the woods, warp them on photoshop, paste them onto a canvas and paint my representation of nature.  I want to have an abstract green forest surrounding her bare form.

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
Lao Tzu

To make my image not so convoluted and busy, I'm going to represent my idea of the butterfly effect with a zen approach, tying in with Taoism.  I'll be representing this idea symbolically with images of nature and how natural changes/decisions create the world we live in.

For my Narrative project I want to do something that will illustrate the Butterfly Effect and how every minor decision made in life can drastically alter in the end. I'm not entirely sure how exactly I'll illustrate this, but I have a few ideas in mind such as, people meeting, a person taking a different path than the normal route..I'll have the images of people fading to represent this possible decision that hasn't fully gone into effect.

The computers in the library wouldnt allow me to save my progress as "web and devices" yesterday so this is my general overview of the progression of growth with the branches and changed background (in which I replaced the previous photo with two images of trees I have taken and overlapped.)

Artist Statement:
Trees have provided us with two of life’s essentials, food and oxygen, thus becoming a part of us.  Integrating the form of a tree and lungs will provide an explanation of this great importance on how trees can be viewed as one with us.  My work will blend these two forms in a flowing, organic style that will reach out to the viewer in a sensible, relatable manner.  The photographs that I will be using are ones that I have taken of uniquely formed trees throughout the world that I felt a connection with in some way or another. I intend on blending the characters of all of these unique trees into one distinctive form joining into the set of lungs.
